Kentucky Robbery Suspect Found Hiding In Ohio Sewer Pipe After Police Chase

DAYTON, Ohio — An 18-year-old suspect wanted in a Kentucky robbery case was arrested Monday after police found him hiding in a sewer pipe near Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Chase Ends In Sewer Pipe Search

Deputies said they were alerted to a pursuit involving the Springboro Police Department, which ended in a crash after the suspect’s vehicle lost control. The driver fled on foot, prompting a large search of the area.

Investigators soon received evidence that the teenager had taken cover in an underground sewer pipe. A shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residents as officers closed in. Shortly after, the suspect emerged from the drain and was taken into custody.

Arrest And Ongoing Investigation

Authorities reported that the suspect, along with another person, was arrested without further incident. While the teen has not yet been identified publicly, he was wanted on an aggravated robbery charge in Kentucky.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Springboro Police, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky are all participating in the ongoing investigation.
