Kentucky State Police Investigating I-64 Crash Involving Juveniles and Owingsville Couple

OWINGSVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky State Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred Saturday evening, September 6, after a speeding Nissan Altima attempted to evade a traffic stop and collided with a maroon minivan near KY 36.
Crash Details
According to the Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead, troopers were conducting traffic enforcement on I-64 in Bath County around 7:00 p.m. when they observed a white Nissan Altima traveling at excessive speeds in a westbound lane.
A trooper attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the Nissan exited the interstate at Exit 121 and struck a minivan near the KY 36 intersection.
Injuries Reported
The occupants of the minivan, identified as Tiffany N. Spillman, 31, and Berkley M. Spillman, 30, both of Owingsville, were transported to St. Claire Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Inside the Nissan Altima, four juveniles were also injured and taken to various medical facilities. Authorities have not released details on their conditions.
Investigation Ongoing
Trooper Isaiah Bryant is leading the investigation. Police confirmed that criminal charges are pending, though no further details have been released regarding possible charges or the circumstances leading up to the incident.
