Laurel County Man Arrested After Attempted Break-In With Bolt Cutters

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — Deputies arrested a 23-year-old Corbin man last week after he allegedly tried to break into a business with bolt cutters.

Suspect Spotted With Bolt Cutters

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies observed Joshua Davenport carrying bolt cutters while running toward the back of a store off Kentucky 312 around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 16.

A deputy followed Davenport and gave him multiple commands to stop, but officials said he ignored the orders.

Struggle Before Arrest

After a short pursuit and brief struggle, Davenport was taken into custody. Deputies later confirmed through the store owner that he had been attempting to break into the business.

Charges and Ongoing Case

Davenport now faces charges connected to the attempted break-in and resisting arrest. Officials have not yet released information on his bond or court appearance.
