Lexington Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Winburn Drive Shooting
LEXINGTON, Ky. — Police are investigating after a man was shot Thursday morning near the intersection of Winburn Drive and McCullough Drive, leaving him hospitalized in life-threatening condition.
Shooting Near Winburn Middle School
The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. on September 18, according to the Lexington Fire Department. The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
As a precaution, Winburn Middle School was placed on heightened alert for about an hour. School officials confirmed the all-clear was later given, and no students or staff were harmed.
Police Say No Ongoing Threat
According to Lexington police, their preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
However, no suspect details have been released, and no arrests have been made as of Thursday evening.
