Man Shot and Killed on Manslick Road in South Louisville, Police Searching for Suspect
LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — A man is dead following a Wednesday evening shooting in south Louisville, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
Officers were dispatched around 7:45 p.m. to the 7800 block of Manslick Road near Oakcrest Court after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately began life-saving efforts.
Despite attempts to revive him, EMS pronounced the victim dead at the scene, LMPD officials confirmed.
Homicide Unit Leading Investigation
The LMPD Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation but said no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified as of Thursday morning.
Detectives are currently working to determine what led up to the shooting and whether the victim was targeted or caught in an isolated incident.
Police have not released the victim’s name pending notification of family members.
