Marion Man Charged With Burglary After Allegedly Breaking Into Linn County Home

LINN COUNTY, IOWA – Authorities have charged a 47-year-old Marion man after he was allegedly caught inside a home during a burglary in eastern Iowa on Wednesday afternoon.
Homeowner Confronts Suspect
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday to a reported burglary in the 3700 block of North Center Point Road. The homeowner told investigators that he returned to find a man inside his house.
The suspect immediately fled on foot but was located by police on the property shortly after.
Suspect Identified and Arrested
Authorities identified the man as Timothy Meier, 47, of Marion. He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary and possession of stolen property.
Police also discovered that Meier was in possession of both stolen property from the residence and a vehicle reported stolen by the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Ongoing Investigation
The case remains under investigation, and officials have not released further details on whether additional charges will be filed.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
