Milwaukee Police Investigating After 11-Year-Old Child Shot and Killed

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — An 11-year-old child was shot and killed Tuesday evening near 68th Street and Silver Spring Drive on the city’s northwest side, according to Milwaukee police.

Authorities said officers responded around 6:45 p.m. and found the child suffering from gunshot wounds. Fire officials confirmed the victim was transported to Children’s Wisconsin, where the child later died.

Investigation Underway

Police have not released the gender of the victim, and detectives are continuing to investigate what led to the deadly shooting. As of late Tuesday night, officials had not announced any arrests or confirmed whether suspects were being actively sought.

Law enforcement sources told local media that a large section of the neighborhood was cordoned off with crime scene tape, with multiple officers surrounding an apartment building near the intersection.
