Minneapolis Strip Club Brawl Erupts Into Gunfire, Leaving One Man Critically Injured
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — A violent fight at a downtown Minneapolis strip club turned into a shooting early Sunday morning, leaving a man in his 40s with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Gunfire Erupts Near Third Street South
The incident unfolded around 3:43 a.m., when Minneapolis police officers responding to a reported assault in the 300 block of Third Street South heard gunfire nearby.
Officers raced toward the sound of shots and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of Third Street South and Second Avenue South. Police immediately rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived and transported him to Hennepin Healthcare, where he remains in critical condition.
Fight Started Inside Rick’s Cabaret
Investigators say the shooting stemmed from an altercation inside Rick’s Cabaret, a well-known downtown adult nightclub. The confrontation reportedly spilled out onto the street, where it escalated into gunfire.
Police have not confirmed how many people were involved in the altercation, but witnesses told investigators they saw a group arguing and pushing each other before the shots rang out.
Authorities said no arrests have been made as detectives continue interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from businesses along Third Street South.
