Missing Jennings Woman Found Dead Near Iowa After Hit-and-Run

IOWA, LOUISIANA – Authorities have confirmed that a 53-year-old woman from Jennings who was reported missing last week has been found dead following a hit-and-run crash near Iowa, Louisiana.
Body Discovered Near Interstate 10
The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police reported that Bonnie Fontenot was discovered shortly after noon on Wednesday, August 27, in the median between I-10 and the I-10 North Frontage Road near U.S. 165.
Detectives later confirmed her identity. Fontenot had been missing since Friday, August 22, when she was last seen in Jennings.
Investigation Points to Hit-and-Run
According to investigators, Fontenot was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling along the I-10 Frontage Road, and the driver fled the scene without stopping.
The Louisiana State Police are now leading the investigation and continuing to search for the vehicle and driver responsible.
