Multi-Agency Task Force in Fond du Lac County Makes Dozens of Arrests in Massive Drug Bust During 74 Traffic Stops

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. — Authorities have released details of a sweeping multi-jurisdiction drug bust carried out in August 2025 that resulted in dozens of arrests across Fond du Lac County. The coordinated operation involved multiple agencies and targeted high drug-trafficking areas over the course of nine hours.

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, the initiative brought together officers from Fond du Lac, Waupun, and the Wisconsin State Patrol, supported by multiple K9 teams and investigators from the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group.

Details of the Operation

The enforcement effort began at 3 p.m. on August 19, 2025, and continued until midnight, during which time 74 traffic stops were made. Officials said the objective was to “saturate” neighborhoods with high drug trafficking activity and make arrests related to drugs and associated crimes.

In total, authorities seized:

  • 59 grams of meth

  • 176 grams of THC
  • 84 grams of ecstasy
  • 16 grams of fentanyl

The operation also resulted in 11 K9 deployments, 14 traffic citations, 53 traffic warnings, three arrests for operating while intoxicated (OWI), and five warrant arrests.

Notable Arrests

Officials highlighted several unusual encounters during the crackdown. In one case, a suspect who had been arrested days earlier for a drug offense — and was released on bail — was found with a large quantity of drugs. The individual attempted to flee and tried to discard the substances while running but was taken into custody.

Another incident involved a woman approaching a pickup truck, conversing briefly with someone inside, and then climbing in. Authorities reported that the woman and driver did not know each other and suspected the situation may have been linked to prostitution-related activity.

Sheriff’s Office Statement

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt said the release of information was delayed to allow time for follow-up investigations launched during the task force operation.

“The Sheriff’s Office, along with state and municipal law enforcement agencies across Fond du Lac County, remains committed to working together to combat illegal drug trafficking and other associated crimes,” Waldschmidt said. “We will continue collaborating with our law enforcement partners, as these crimes not only destroy lives and families, but oftentimes also involve illegal firearms, human trafficking, prostitution, money laundering, and other violent crimes.”

During the enforcement initiative, 27 inmates were booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail.

The massive bust highlights the growing coordination between local and state agencies in fighting drug trafficking and related crimes in Wisconsin communities. For more updates on this case and other public safety stories, stay with ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
