One Dead After Two-Vehicle Crash at Bryan Station Road and Manhattan Drive in Lexington

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY — Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed one life Sunday evening in Lexington, according to officials.
The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bryan Station Road and Manhattan Drive, where two vehicles collided under unclear circumstances.
Lexington firefighters responded to the scene along with Fayette County Coroner’s Office, who confirmed that one driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Confirm Ongoing Investigation
Authorities said the driver of the second vehicle refused medical treatment at the crash site. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased driver pending family notification.
“This remains an active investigation,” a Lexington Police spokesperson said late Sunday. “Our collision reconstruction unit is working to determine what led to this fatal crash.”
Intersection Closed for Several Hours
The intersection of Bryan Station Road and Manhattan Drive was temporarily closed as emergency responders cleared the wreckage and investigators collected evidence. Traffic was redirected for several hours Sunday night before reopening.
No charges have been filed at this time, and authorities have not said whether speed or impairment were factors.
