Oregon Drug Task Force Arrests The Dalles Man After Search Uncovers Guns, Drugs, and Body Armor

THE DALLES, OREGON – A 52-year-old man has been arrested in The Dalles after a multi-agency task force executed a search warrant Friday that uncovered drugs, firearms, ammunition, and body armor inside his home, according to the Mid-Columbia Interagency Narcotics Task Force (MINT) .

What Authorities Found

Officers reported seizing commercial quantities of marijuana and methamphetamine, which were sent to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab for testing. The search also uncovered firearms, ammunition, and body armor, raising concerns about the potential scale of the operation.

The suspect, identified as Anthony Hithe, was taken into custody and booked into the Northern Oregon Correctional Facility.

Charges Filed

Hithe faces multiple charges, including:

  • Felon in possession of a firearm
  • Possession of methamphetamine and marijuana in substantial quantities
  • Unlawful delivery of methamphetamine
  • Possession of body armor
  • Illegal transfer of a firearm
  • Endangerment of the welfare of a minor

Authorities said more charges could be added as evidence continues to be processed.

Task Force Response

The MINT Team, which includes the sheriff’s departments of Wasco, Hood River, Sherman, and Gilliam counties, along with The Dalles and Hood River police, emphasized the importance of interagency cooperation.

Wasco County Sheriff Lane Magill said:

“This case demonstrates our shared commitment to the safety of the Columbia Gorge region and is evidence of our ability and willingness to work together for the benefit of all of our citizens.”

Dalles Police Chief Tom Worthy added:

“I’m optimistic that you will see many more cases such as this soon.”

Legal Status

Authorities stressed that Hithe remains innocent until proven guilty in court. Bail eligibility is still being determined.
