Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Crash on I-24 in Christian County

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY — A pedestrian was killed in a fatal crash on I-24 early Monday morning, according to the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post in Madisonville.

Authorities said the accident happened around 4 a.m. near the 74-mile marker on I-24 after Christian County 911 dispatchers received reports of a collision.
Investigators determined that 36-year-old Stephen Adams of Pleasant View, Tennessee, was driving a semi when he saw a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the roadway. Adams moved into the left lane to yield but struck a pedestrian while doing so.
The pedestrian, identified as 29-year-old Kenneth Blackley of Golden Valley, Minnesota, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office.
No Charges Filed
Officials confirmed that Adams was not injured, and at this time, no criminal charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
KSP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
