Police Investigate Child’s Death in Dairy Queen Parking Lot in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, WISCONSIN — Authorities are investigating the death of a child after police responded to a Dairy Queen parking lot near Highway 100 and Greenfield Avenue early Saturday morning, according to the West Allis Police Department.

Police said officers were called to the scene around 8 a.m. on October 18 after receiving reports of a possible medical emergency involving a child. Upon arrival, investigators were seen gathered around a gold-colored car parked in the lot.

Investigators Detain Two Adults at the Scene

While details remain limited, WISN 12 News reported that officers were observed handcuffing a man and placing him into the back of a squad car. A woman was also escorted out of the area by police.

Officials have not yet confirmed the relationship between the adults and the deceased child. The age and identity of the child have not been released.

“This is an active investigation, and further details will be provided once available,” police said in a Sunday statement.
