LONDON, KY — The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a weekend robbery south of London.

Deputies reported that the robbery occurred around 9:35 p.m. on Saturday at the Smoke Shop located on KY 363, approximately one mile south of the city.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the store, pepper-sprayed the clerk, and then stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing the scene.

The sheriff’s office has released photos of the suspect to the public in hopes of generating leads. Authorities have not yet disclosed a name, but they confirmed the individual remains at large.
