The HU Release HUN and Unveil “Horsemen” Video as the Mongolian Metal Band Lines up a Packed U.S. Tour
LOS ANGELES, CA — The HU have dropped their third studio album, HUN, and paired the release with a new official video for “Horsemen.” The Mongolian folk metal band says the song draws on the legendary warriors whose discipline and skill helped earn them the nickname “Army of the Heavens.”
The album title itself translates to “human” in Mongolian, and the 11-song set leans into themes of self-reflection while keeping the group’s trademark mix of traditional instrumentation, throat singing and heavy guitar front and center.
HUN keeps the band’s folk-metal identity in focus
HUN continues the formula that has helped The HU build a global fan base since forming in 2014. The record folds Mongolian musical traditions into heavy metal arrangements, but it also aims for a broader emotional range, with songs that look inward as much as they roar outward.
The track list includes “Warrior Chant,” “The Men,” “Echoes of My Father,” “Greed,” “The Real You” and “Second Face.” The album also includes “Lost Soul,” featuring Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More, though that version appears only on the digital edition.
A new collab and chart momentum add to the release
“Lost Soul” marks the first collaboration between The HU and Nothing More, and the song is currently climbing the Active Rock chart. That gives the album a timely push as the band tries to connect its distinctive sound with a wider hard-rock audience in the U.S.
Better Noise Music is releasing the album, giving the band another major-label platform for a project that arrives after years of international touring and a string of full-length releases.
The HU are heading back to American amphitheaters next month
The album rollout comes just as The HU prepare to return to the U.S. next month on a run supporting Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, with Orgy also on the bill at many stops. The itinerary includes shows in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Washington and California.
After the North American dates, the band is scheduled to head to Europe in the fall with Skald, extending a year that already includes major touring on both sides of the Atlantic.
