Thrice Announces New Album ‘Horizons/West’ and Releases Single “Gnash”

CHICAGO — Veteran post-hardcore band Thrice has announced their highly anticipated new album titled “Horizons/West”, set to release on October 3, 2025. The project acts as a direct sequel to their 2021 album “Horizons/East”, and was unveiled alongside a powerful new single, “Gnash.”
The band also confirmed a Fall 2025 North American tour, kicking off October 17 in San Diego, and wrapping with a two-night stand in Anaheim on November 23 and 25. Tickets are now available on StubHub.
A Conceptual Sequel to “Horizons/East”
In a statement accompanying the announcement, frontman Dustin Kensrue explained the deeper themes of the new album:
“This is the first time we leaned into something that felt like a direct continuation, like a sequel to a previous album. A lot of this record is about parsing reality. We’re constantly being influenced by algorithms, by fear, by our own social echo chambers. Horizons/West tries to pull the curtain back on some of that.”
Kensrue added that the band continues to “follow curiosity wherever it leads,” aiming to stay honest to who they are now as artists and people.

Released alongside the album announcement, “Gnash” blends the emotive vocals, intense build-ups, and layered post-hardcore instrumentals that longtime Thrice fans love. The track sets the tone for what’s expected to be one of their most introspective records to date.
