Two Killed, Three Others — Including Child — Injured in Separate Milwaukee Shootings Saturday

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN — Two people were killed and three others, including a six-year-old child, were injured in two separate shootings that occurred just hours apart across Milwaukee on Saturday, October 18, 2025, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

Authorities confirmed that the first shooting happened early Saturday morning near Appleton Avenue and Ruby Street, while the second occurred later that night near 19th and State Streets.

Two Killed in Early-Morning Shooting on Appleton and Ruby

Police responded around 7:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire near Appleton Avenue and Ruby Street. When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

A 33-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 43-year-old man was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died from his wounds.

Investigators said a 35-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene shortly after the shooting. Charges will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days.

“This was a tragic, violent morning in our city,” a police spokesperson said. “The investigation remains ongoing, but we do not believe there is a broader threat to the public.”

Child Among Three Shot Near 19th and State

Just over twelve hours later, Milwaukee police responded to another shooting near 19th and State around 7:45 p.m.

Officers said three people were wounded, including a six-year-old child, a 23-year-old, and a 38-year-old. All three were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released any details about a suspect or motive. The area remained blocked off for several hours Saturday night as detectives processed the scene.

“Anytime a child is hurt by gunfire, it shocks the conscience of this community,” one Milwaukee resident told FOX Local. “We’re just tired of seeing this over and over.”
