Wisconsin Law Enforcement Makes Over 100 Traffic Stops in One-Day Operation, Multiple Arrests Made
WASHINGTON COUNTY, WISCONSIN — A large-scale law enforcement operation in southern Wisconsin led to more than 100 traffic stops, multiple drug arrests, and several wanted individuals taken into custody during a single evening, according to officials.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Unit and Germantown Police Department, conducted the joint operation on Wednesday evening, targeting “key traffic areas” known for criminal activity.
“This operation sends a clear message to those who traffic drugs or engage in criminal behavior in our communities — Washington County is not a place to conduct your business,” said Sheriff Martin Schulteis.
Dozens of Arrests and Pursuits During Operation
The coordinated crackdown focused on everything from drug interdiction to locating fugitives, resulting in a range of arrests and citations across the region.
Among the primary cases identified by the Sheriff’s Office:
- A 29-year-old Milwaukee woman led deputies on a vehicle pursuit after refusing to stop for a traffic violation. She was eventually apprehended using a PIT maneuver and charged with fleeing, bail jumping, and ignition interlock violations.
- A 40-year-old man from De Pere was arrested after a K9 named Razor alerted deputies to drugs in his vehicle. Officers seized 2.9 grams of cocaine, 3.6 grams of a fentanyl-cocaine mix, and 3.7 grams of methamphetamine.
- Another driver was cited for excessive window tint, and deputies discovered the odor of THC along with a 1-year-old child riding unrestrained, leading to multiple citations.
Germantown Police Arrests Add to Totals
The Germantown Police Department also reported several arrests during the joint enforcement effort:
- A driver was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine and THC.
- Another suspect was caught with cocaine paraphernalia and allegedly tried to hide a rock of crack cocaine in his mouth.
- Two passengers in separate vehicles were arrested on active warrants.
Operation Results and Community Impact
In total, the multi-agency operation resulted in:
- 105 traffic stops
- 8 felony charges
- 6 misdemeanor charges
- 3 warrant arrests
Officials said these high-visibility enforcement details are designed to deter criminal activity and strengthen community safety.
“These interdiction details provide both a clear message and a visible deterrent to those who choose to traffic drugs or engage in criminal behavior,” Sheriff Schulteis said.
Law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin have been conducting similar coordinated operations to curb drug trafficking and catch repeat offenders. Authorities encouraged residents to continue reporting suspicious activity that could help prevent future crimes.
