Wisconsin Teacher Pleads Guilty to Illicit Sexual Contact With 11-Year-Old Student, Faces Up to 12 Years

HUDSON, Wisconsin — A 25-year-old former elementary school teacher has pleaded guilty to child enticement and sexual misconduct after admitting to an inappropriate relationship with an 11-year-old student, court records confirm.

The teacher, Madison Bergmann, formerly of River Crest Elementary School, entered the plea on September 29. She now faces up to 12 years in prison when sentenced on December 22 in St. Croix County Court.

Inappropriate Relationship Discovered

The case first surfaced when the victim’s parents discovered that their son had been communicating daily with Bergmann after obtaining her phone number during a skiing trip over winter break.

Investigators later searched Bergmann’s phone and uncovered a disturbing series of messages. In one text exchange, the boy wrote: “Haha bro I just want to make out with you.” Bergmann allegedly replied: “I do too! Like alllll the time.”

Authorities also found a folder in her backpack containing handwritten letters to the boy. In one note, Bergmann allegedly confessed: “I know we have a special relationship and I do love you more than anyone in the world but I have to be the adult here and stop.”

Charges and Court Proceedings

Bergmann originally faced charges including first-degree child sexual assault, but that count was dismissed under the plea agreement. She pleaded guilty to:

  • Child enticement with sexual contact
  • Sexual misconduct by school staff (two counts)

During the plea hearing, Bergmann cried openly as she was led away in handcuffs. She is currently being held at the St. Croix County Jail without bond.

Community Reaction

The Hudson School District called the case “deeply troubling for all of us” and emphasized its commitment to student safety.

Local parents expressed outrage and concern, calling for stronger safeguards to prevent future misconduct by school employees.

The sentencing of Bergmann in December is expected to bring closure to a case that has shaken the Hudson community and raised questions about oversight in schools. For more Wisconsin crime and education safety coverage, stay connected with ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
