Southeastern Oklahoma State University Announces 2025-26 Musical Arts Series Schedule

DURANT, OKLAHOMA – Southeastern Oklahoma State University has announced the lineup for its 2025-26 Musical Arts Series, marking the 53rd season of the celebrated performance calendar. Beginning on Tuesday, September 23, audiences will enjoy five concerts featuring renowned musicians from across the globe, with all performances scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Recital Hall.

- Tuesday, September 23 – Min Hee Kim (flute) and Hamin Kim (cello)
- Thursday, October 2 – Christopher Besch and Michael Leavitt
- Thursday, January 29 – Malaimare, Lee, and Dikener Trio
- Thursday, March 5 – Duo Cantabile
- Saturday, April 11 – The Brian Piper Quintet (in conjunction with Southeastern JazzFest)
The series is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Oklahoma Arts Council, the Steger Piano Institute, and the Clark and Wanda Bass Foundation.
Opening Concert: Min Hee Kim and Hamin Kim
The season begins with a dynamic duo performance by Dr. Min Hee Kim, a celebrated flutist and Carnegie Hall soloist, alongside cellist Hamin Kim, who has graced iconic stages such as London’s Royal Albert Hall and Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center.
Dr. Kim, who teaches at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, UT Dallas, and Dallas College, is widely recognized for her innovative research on jazz language in flute repertoire. She is also a Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition winner and has been featured at major flute festivals and conventions nationwide.
Hamin Kim, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, brings a global and emotional depth to his performances. Alongside his solo career, he also performs with the Kim Quartet and currently serves on the faculty at Dallas College.
A Season of Diverse Performances
The upcoming season blends chamber music, vocal excellence, and jazz artistry. Highlights include the Malaimare, Lee, and Dikener Trio in January and the Brian Piper Quintet’s performance in April, presented in collaboration with the Southeastern JazzFest.
