Woman Fatally Shot In Downtown Louisville; Police Seek Information

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman is dead after a shooting in downtown Louisville on Monday night, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) and a report from WDRB.
Shooting Reported On South Brook Street
Police said officers responded to the 700 block of South Brook Street near Broadway around 10:20 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered a woman suffering from gunshot wounds outside a building.
Emergency crews and Louisville Fire provided life-saving measures before transporting her to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Investigation Underway, No Suspects Yet
The case is now being handled by LMPD’s Homicide Unit, which has not yet identified any suspects or made arrests.
“Life-saving measures were given until EMS and Louisville Fire got on scene,” said department spokesperson Aaron Ellis, noting the investigation is still in its early stages, as reported by WDRB.

Police are urging anyone with information — including phone video or surveillance footage — to come forward.
