Kentucky Man Arrested in Connection With Fort Payne Bank Robbery

FORT PAYNE, ALABAMA – A 62-year-old Kentucky man has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Fort Payne, authorities announced Friday.
Arrest and Charges
The suspect, identified as Mark Loveless of Somerset, Kentucky, was taken into custody on Wednesday, September 10, following the issuance of an arrest warrant earlier that day. He has been charged with first-degree bank robbery.
According to the Fort Payne Police Department (FPPD), Loveless was located in Pulaski County, Kentucky, and arrested without incident by the FBI in coordination with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office.
Police Statement
Fort Payne Police Chief David Davis praised the work of investigators and federal partners.
“I want to thank our officers for their swift response to the robbery and our investigators for their diligence in resolving this case quickly,” Davis said. “I would also like to extend my gratitude to the FBI Birmingham for their prompt assistance and hard work as well.”
Awaiting Extradition
Loveless is currently being held at the Pulaski County Jail, awaiting extradition to Fort Payne. Authorities noted that he may also face federal charges related to the case.
