EUGENE, Ore. — Residents across the Willamette Valley will enjoy warm, sunny conditions through Saturday before a Pacific storm system brings rain and cooler air late Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Portland.

Sunny Start to the Weekend

Friday’s forecast calls for sunshine and a high near 76°F, with temperatures climbing to about 80°F on Saturday. Lows will remain in the upper 40s to low 50s, making for comfortable evenings ahead of the shift.

Showers Move in Late Sunday

Clouds are expected to thicken Sunday, with a 30% chance of rain developing after 5 p.m. By Sunday night, the chance of showers increases to 70%, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-50s.

Outdoor events planned for Sunday evening could face disruptions as conditions turn wetter. The NWS advises residents to carry rain gear and prepare for slippery backroads during heavier downpours.

Wet Commutes and Cooler Air

By Monday, Lane County is expected to see widespread rain with daytime highs dropping into the upper 60s.

Drivers along Interstate 5 between Salem and Eugene should prepare for wet commutes during the Monday morning rush. Officials urge caution on slick roads as the first round of showers sets in.

Extended Forecast

Rain is likely to continue through Tuesday and Wednesday before skies begin to clear by Thursday. Forecasters say additional advisories could be issued depending on the storm track.
