Wisconsin Murder Suspect Captured in Southern Indiana After Police Chase Ends in Soybean Field

CLARKSVILLE, Indiana — A Wisconsin murder suspect was captured Tuesday in southern Indiana after police say he led officers on a high-speed chase before crashing and trying to hide in a soybean field.
High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Crash
The suspect, identified as Demonta Hambright, was first spotted at a Clark County truck stop when Advanced Flock license plate cameras detected a stolen vehicle.
When officers attempted to make contact, Hambright allegedly sped off, sparking a chase through rural parts of the county. The pursuit ended when he crashed on Charlestown-Memphis Road.
Attempted Escape in Soybean Field
After the crash, Hambright abandoned the vehicle and tried to escape by hiding in a nearby soybean field. Deputies quickly located him and placed him under arrest.
Hambright is facing resisting law enforcement charges in Clark County, in addition to the Wisconsin murder warrant that initially put him on police radar.
Awaiting Extradition
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Hambright is being held at the Clark County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Wisconsin.
Authorities have not yet released details about the murder case connected to Hambright, but officials say more information will be provided as the investigation develops.
The dramatic chase underscores how interstate law enforcement coordination led to the capture of a wanted murder suspect. For more Midwest crime updates and breaking justice news, follow ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
