Two Women Shot and Killed in South Louisville, Police Investigating
LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Louisville Metro Police are investigating a double homicide after two women were found shot and killed inside a home early Saturday morning in south Louisville.
Officers Respond to Early Morning Shooting
Police said the shooting occurred around 4:15 a.m. in the 100 block of East Southland Boulevard, located near several residential neighborhoods just off Taylor Boulevard.
According to LMPD spokesperson Aaron Ellis, responding officers discovered two women suffering from gunshot wounds inside the residence. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Their identities and ages have not yet been released, pending notification of family members.
LMPD Homicide Unit Leading Investigation
The Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and spent much of the morning processing the crime scene for evidence.
Police have not released details about possible suspects or motives. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and neighborhood doorbell cameras in the surrounding area to gather leads.
