Teen Hospitalized After Shooting at Lexington’s Gainesway Park, Police Say

LEXINGTON, KENTUCKY — An 18-year-old male is recovering in the hospital after being shot Tuesday afternoon at Gainesway Park, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 4 p.m. on November 4, finding the victim suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene. Police said the teen was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later listed in stable condition.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

Authorities have not released any details about a potential suspect or motive behind the shooting. The incident occurred in the southeast area of Lexington, a community park frequently used by families and young residents.

Police confirmed that detectives are actively gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting.
