Naked Florida Man Arrested After Chasing Walmart Employees and Fleeing Into Woods, Police Say

LAKE CITY, FLORIDA – Police in northern Florida say a 30-year-old man caused chaos outside a Walmart after running completely naked through the parking lot, chasing employees, and fleeing into nearby woods before being arrested.

Officers Called to Walmart Parking Lot

The Lake City Police Department said the bizarre incident happened around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Walmart located along U.S. Highway 90 — roughly 60 miles west of Jacksonville.

Officers responded to reports of a “suspicious person acting erratically” and soon learned that the man had been “chasing employees in the parking lot” while fully nude.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect, later identified as Rakime Triondre Johnson, crawling on his hands and knees in a wooded area north of the store.

“Agitated and Paranoid,” Police Say

According to a police statement, Johnson appeared “agitated and paranoid” and refused to speak coherently with officers. Concerned for his safety, police contacted paramedics and placed him in hand restraints “for his own protection.”

He was transported by emergency medical services to Lake City Medical Center for evaluation.

At the hospital, Johnson initially gave officers a false name, identifying himself as “Raheem.” A fingerprint scan later revealed his true identity.

Charges and Custody

After being medically cleared, Johnson was taken to the Columbia County Detention Facility. He faces charges of exposure of sexual organs and resisting an officer without violence, according to county court records.

Police described Johnson as homeless and noted that he has applied for indigent legal status. He is scheduled for arraignment on October 14.

The Lake City Police Department has not released a possible motive for Johnson’s behavior but said no Walmart employees were physically injured during the incident.
