‘You Deserve This’: Florida Women Beat Married Couple With Patron Bottle in Road Rage Attack Outside Miami 7-Eleven, Police Say
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA — A violent road rage incident just north of Miami left a married couple bloodied and bruised after two women allegedly beat them with fists and a Patron tequila bottle, shouting “You deserve this!” during the assault, according to Miami-Dade Police.
Authorities said the confrontation happened around 1 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Northeast 167th Street and Northeast 2nd Avenue, where 26-year-old Kim Aime and 25-year-old Marlene Edward allegedly attacked the victims in broad daylight before being arrested outside a 7-Eleven convenience store.
From Reckless Driving to Violent Assault
According to arrest affidavits obtained by Law&Crime, the incident began when the couple noticed Aime driving recklessly and nearly colliding with their vehicle. Both cars stopped at a red light, but Aime allegedly parked in the middle of traffic, blocking the roadway.
Moments later, Aime allegedly ran up to the victims’ car, tried to force her way in through a cracked window, and punched the husband multiple times as he sat behind the wheel. The wife recorded part of the encounter on her phone.
The violence escalated when both women allegedly turned their aggression on the wife, dragging her out of the vehicle and striking her repeatedly. Police said Edward hit her “multiple times with an empty Patron tequila bottle” while Aime continued to punch her.
Victims Left Bloodied; Suspects Fled to Nearby Store
Seeing his wife attacked, the husband got out to defend her, but the pair allegedly beat him as well, with Edward striking him in the face using the same Patron bottle.
“She basically hit our vehicle twice. It was life or death. They could have killed me and my husband,” the wife later told local CBS affiliates WFOR/WBFS.
After the assault, the suspects fled into a 7-Eleven parking lot, where witnesses saw Aime throw up both middle fingers toward the couple. Police arrived within minutes, finding both victims injured.
Officers noted that the wife had blood in her mouth, a cut lip, and swelling to her gums, while the husband suffered cuts to his hand and head.
Drugs and Stolen Cards Found in Car
Police searched the suspects’ vehicle and uncovered 34 grams of marijuana, 3 grams of suspected cocaine, and two debit cards that did not belong to either woman.
Both Aime and Edward were taken into custody and charged with multiple felonies. Aime faces burglary with assault or battery, battery, resisting arrest, and drug charges; Edward faces aggravated battery, burglary with assault, and additional drug charges.
They are currently being held without bond at the Miami-Dade County Jail.
