Wisconsin Man Charged With Murder in Richland County Death After Violent Altercation

RICHLAND COUNTY, WISCONSIN — A 56-year-old Wisconsin man has been charged with felony murder following the death of another man in rural Richland County last month, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified the suspect as Judd Allen Frazier, who also faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm connected to the ongoing death investigation, Sheriff Clay Porter said in a public statement on Monday.

Altercation Reported Days Before Victim Was Found Dead

Deputies were dispatched to a medical call on September 29 in rural Richland County, where they discovered a man dead. Investigators later determined that a physical altercation involving Frazier and the victim had taken place three days earlier, on September 26.

Officials have not released the name of the deceased or confirmed the exact cause of death. Sheriff Porter declined to provide additional details on when authorities believe the man died.

Suspect Taken Into Custody After Warrant Issued

Frazier was taken into custody on October 1 by Boscobel police officers under a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant. He remains held at the Richland County Sheriff’s Office Jail pending further court proceedings.

Investigators say evidence gathered at the scene, along with subsequent witness interviews, supported the murder charge filed against Frazier.

“Our thoughts are with the victim and his family during this difficult time,” Sheriff Porter said. “We remain committed to thoroughly investigating this matter and ensuring that justice is pursued.”

Investigation Still Active

The Richland County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, continues to review forensic evidence and reconstruct the sequence of events that led to the fatal encounter.

Authorities have not disclosed a potential motive or whether additional suspects are being considered.

This case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. For ongoing updates on Wisconsin crime and justice news, visit ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
