Ohio Man Accused of Killing Girlfriend’s 5-Month-Old Daughter While She Was Out With Other Kids

FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO — A 32-year-old Ohio man is facing murder charges after authorities say he fatally injured his girlfriend’s 5-month-old daughter, leaving the infant with skull fractures and multiple traumatic injuries while her mother was away for just one hour.
According to prosecutors, Glenn McIntosh allegedly killed baby Ameira Reynolds on October 13 inside a Madison Township home on the 4000 block of Willard Brook Road, where he had been living with the child’s mother.
Officials said McIntosh and the baby’s mother had only been dating for three months, and he was not biologically related to Ameira.
Police Say McIntosh Fled and Ignored Mother’s Calls After the Incident
Prosecutors told the court that Ameira’s mother had left her home briefly with her two other children, leaving McIntosh in charge of the baby. When she returned about an hour later, McIntosh had already fled the residence.
“Upon further observation, the baby was limp,” Assistant Franklin County Prosecutor Shania Goble said during McIntosh’s bond hearing, according to WSYX.
The frantic mother rushed her daughter to a hospital and began texting McIntosh, demanding to know what happened. He allegedly ignored her calls and messages for hours before eventually responding that the baby had fallen.
Doctors later determined the child’s injuries were inconsistent with a fall, and that she had died from blunt force trauma.
Mother’s Heartbreaking Statement in Court
During McIntosh’s first court appearance, prosecutors read a statement from Ameira’s grieving mother, who accused the defendant of betraying her trust in the worst way possible.
“You asked me to trust you and I trusted you with my baby, and you took her from me,” the statement read. “You killed my baby girl. My baby didn’t deserve that. I can’t imagine what you put her through.”
She continued, calling McIntosh a “monster” for harming a defenseless child:
“I can’t believe I let my guard down and trusted you. You hurt her and let her suffer. A baby — a defenseless baby. How dare you. You are a monster, and you will reap what you sow.”
Prosecutors Describe Case as Brutal and Premeditated
Assistant Prosecutor Goble said McIntosh had no explanation for why he was alone with the infant or why he fled immediately after the incident.
Authorities said McIntosh was arrested soon after and charged with murder in Franklin County. He remains held at the county jail on a $2 million bond, according to court records.
A GoFundMe page launched by Ameira’s family described her as “a sweet angel taken too soon,” adding that her “big eyes and beautiful smile” will never be forgotten.
Community Reaction and Ongoing Investigation
Neighbors in Madison Township expressed outrage and sadness following the child’s death, calling for stricter background checks and domestic abuse awareness.
Investigators are still working to determine whether there were prior signs of abuse in the household. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the county prosecutor’s office are jointly handling the ongoing investigation.
