Madison Police Arrest Three Juveniles After Large Street Fight Blocks Busy Intersection
MADISON, WISCONSIN — A large fight involving several juveniles broke out Thursday afternoon on Madison’s near east side, temporarily blocking traffic at a busy intersection before police quickly intervened and made multiple arrests.
According to the Madison Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of East Washington Avenue and North Street around 12:47 p.m., where they found a group of teens fighting in the roadway.
Police Quickly Contain the Scene and Make Arrests
Responding officers were able to contain the situation within minutes, clearing the intersection and restoring traffic flow. Three juveniles were taken into custody following the altercation.
Police said all three teens now face charges of battery and disorderly conduct in connection with the fight, which briefly caused a disturbance in one of Madison’s most heavily traveled corridors.
No serious injuries were reported at the scene, though investigators said the confrontation drew attention from bystanders and passing motorists.
Suspects Taken to Juvenile Reception Center
The arrested teens were transported to the Juvenile Reception Center, where they remain pending further review by juvenile court authorities.
Officials did not release additional details about what sparked the altercation, but confirmed that the fight was not believed to involve weapons.
Police credited the quick response of officers and cooperation from nearby witnesses in helping bring the situation under control before it escalated further.
As Madison police continue to investigate the midday street fight, community leaders are urging parents to remain engaged with teens and help prevent future public disturbances. For more updates on local safety and breaking Wisconsin news, visit ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
