Three Dead, One Seriously Injured After Speeding Car Overturns in Early Morning Madison Crash

MADISON, WISCONSIN — Three people were killed and another seriously injured after a high-speed rollover crash early Saturday morning, according to the Madison Police Department.

The deadly crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. near Cross Country Road and Ambleside Drive, where officers arrived to find a heavily damaged vehicle that had rolled several times.

Speed and Impairment Suspected in Fatal Crash

Investigators believe the car was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.

All four occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Police confirmed that three people died at the scene, while the fourth person was transported to a nearby hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The names of the victims have not yet been released as officials work to notify their families.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities said speed and potential driver impairment are considered contributing factors in the crash.

As of early Saturday morning, the section of Cross Country Road near Ambleside Drive remained closed for accident reconstruction and evidence collection.

The Madison Police Department’s Major Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate the incident.
