Police say the threats targeted locations in Fond du Lac, Tomahawk, Rhinelander, and Kewaskum, prompting extensive response efforts across the state.

Investigators Trace Series of Threats Across Wisconsin

The Fond du Lac Police Department reported receiving multiple bomb threats over several days, beginning on Nov. 21. Detectives quickly identified a suspect who was believed to be connected not only to the local threats but also to similar incidents occurring in northern Wisconsin.

Authorities say the investigation revealed connections between threats made in:

  • Fond du Lac
  • Tomahawk
  • Rhinelander

Detectives traced the suspect to an address possibly linked to Tomahawk. Additional threats targeting Kewaskum High School on Nov. 25 strengthened the case and further connected the suspect to multiple jurisdictions.

Multi-Agency Coordination Leads to Safe Arrest

With the new Kewaskum threat, Fond du Lac detectives worked closely with the Kewaskum Police Department to identify the suspect as a person of interest in all four cities.

The arrest was made possible through collaboration with several agencies across Wisconsin, including:

  • Washington County Sheriff’s Office

Authorities say the suspect was safely taken into custody and is now being held in connection with multiple ongoing investigations spanning several jurisdictions. The suspect’s name has not yet been released pending further review.

Police Praise Cooperation, Highlight Importance of Rapid Response

Fond du Lac Police Lt. Nick Hahn emphasized the strength of interagency coordination in preventing further threats and ensuring the safety of Wisconsin residents.

He said:

“Thanks to swift coordination between departments, we were able to identify and apprehend the suspect before additional threats could be carried out. Public safety remains our top priority.”

Officials say the investigation is ongoing as agencies continue to analyze communications, potential motives, and any additional locations that may have been targeted.

Authorities Urge Residents to Report Suspicious Activity Immediately

While police have not released further details about the suspect or possible motives, they stressed that the case underscores the importance of quickly reporting suspicious behavior or threats. Multiple Wisconsin communities were affected by lockdowns, precautionary searches, and emergency responses during the series of incidents.

More updates are expected once additional evidence is reviewed and charging decisions are finalized.
