Connecticut Man Accused of Executing Parents After Argument Over Not Paying Bills

WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT – A 25-year-old man has been arrested and charged with executing his parents after a heated argument over money and responsibility inside their Connecticut home, authorities say.
Argument Over “Not Paying Rent” Turns Deadly
According to police, Javian Adams fatally shot his parents — Carlene Williams, 51, and Marc Adams, 55 — following an explosive argument over his refusal to contribute financially to the household.
In surveillance footage reviewed by investigators, Williams could be heard shouting, “You don’t pay rent, you don’t pay a bill, you don’t even buy food!”
Adams allegedly responded, “I don’t care no more. F— what y’all say,” before pulling the trigger.
Execution-Style Killing
Prosecutors said Adams shot his mother twice and his father once in the back of the head, execution-style, inside their home on Beverly Avenue in Waterbury on Monday night.
Authorities said Marc Adams, who lived separately, had come to the home that evening to intervene in yet another dispute between his son and ex-wife.
Police believe Javian Adams then fled the scene in his mother’s white Ford Escape, sparking a manhunt that lasted into the next morning.
Confrontation at a Neighbor’s Garage
The following morning, a Watertown resident was startled when he discovered Adams inside his garage, reportedly trying to break in.
“I woke up, went out, shined my flashlight into my garage, and he was waving back at me,” the man told NBC Connecticut. “I told him to leave a bunch of times. He just kept saying, ‘I’m hungry.’ He was super calm, super passive.”
Officers later found Adams nearby after receiving reports of a burglary attempt on Lake Winnemaug Road, roughly 15 minutes from the murder scene.
Police recovered a discarded backpack, sneakers, and the stolen vehicle in the same area.
Prior Domestic Violence History
Court records reveal Adams had a previous domestic violence arrest in December 2024, when he was charged with assault, strangulation, and risk of injury to a child.
Investigators believe his mental state deteriorated in the months leading up to the killings, describing the incident as a sudden escalation of ongoing family conflict.
Facing Life in Prison
Adams is charged with:
- Murder with special circumstances
- Felony murder
- Criminal use of a weapon
- Burglary and larceny
He remains held on a $6 million bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on October 22.
Under Connecticut law, a conviction for murder with special circumstances carries life imprisonment without the possibility of release.
The tragic case has shaken the Waterbury community and raised renewed awareness about domestic violence and mental health intervention. For more updates on this developing case, follow ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
