Elderly Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle in Little Chute

LITTLE CHUTE, WISCONSIN — An 82-year-old man was killed Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Little Chute, according to local police.

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department said officers responded around 7:45 a.m. to the intersection of E. Main Street (State Highway 96) and Buchanan Street for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.

Details of the Crash

Investigators said a vehicle driven by a Little Chute woman struck the man as he crossed the street in the marked crosswalk. The victim sustained significant injuries.

Emergency responders transported him via Theda Star Air Medical Service to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police reported that the driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Road Closure and Investigation

Following the crash, E. Main Street/Highway 96 was shut down for approximately three hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol conducted accident reconstruction.

The Fox Valley Metro Police Department received assistance from multiple agencies, including the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, Theda Star Air Medical Service, Gold Cross Ambulance, Little Chute Fire Department, Little Chute Department of Public Works, and the Fox Cities Victim Crisis Response Team.
