The performance took place Saturday night at The Vic Theatre and drew fan attention not just for North’s set, but for the sight of both parents watching from opposite sides of the VIP balcony.

North performed songs from her EP NOrth4evr, including an unreleased track that sampled West’s “Coldest Winter.” The show leaned into a stripped-back setup that kept the spotlight on her. Footage shared by concertgoers showed the crowd reacting loudly as North moved through her performance with the kind of confidence that has become part of her public image.

The city carried extra meaning because West is from Chicago, and he was in town for more than just his daughter’s concert. On Thursday and Friday, he performed at Soldier Field with guests including Common, Rick Ross, Travis Scott and Lupe Fiasco, according to Billboard.

That meant the weekend had a layered feel: a hometown music run for West and a career milestone for North, all in the same city. The father-daughter connection was visible not only in the balcony footage, but also in the set itself, where North performed an unreleased song that sampled one of his tracks.

For fans, the combination of family support and musical overlap made the night stand out. It linked West’s long history in music to North’s emerging path in a way that felt both personal and public.

Kardashian’s support comes amid a long and complicated co-parenting story

Kardashian has consistently encouraged North’s artistic ambitions, and the concert fit that pattern. The SKIMS founder has often shared moments involving her daughter, including a visit to the company’s Chicago flagship store in the Gold Coast neighborhood during the same trip.

Her presence at the show also came against the backdrop of a widely followed family history. Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021, and their split became increasingly tense over time amid public outbursts and custody issues involving their four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. The divorce was finalized in November 2022.

The former couple agreed to joint custody, though Kardashian handles most of the parenting. Saturday’s concert showed that, despite the years of conflict, they were both willing to show up for North on one of the most visible nights of her young music career.
