Maryland Police Investigating Downtown Baltimore Shooting That Left Man in Critical Condition

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — A man is fighting for his life after being shot in downtown Baltimore early Sunday morning, prompting an investigation by the city’s homicide detectives, police confirmed.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers responded around 1:35 a.m. on Nov. 2 to the 300 block of West Lexington Street following reports of a shooting.

Victim Found With Life-Threatening Wound

When officers arrived, they discovered an unidentified male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Emergency crews rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Given the severity of his injuries, homicide detectives have taken over the investigation to determine what led to the shooting.

“The victim’s condition remains critical, and our detectives are working to identify both a motive and suspect,” a Baltimore Police spokesperson said in a brief statement.

No Suspects Identified Yet

Police have not yet released details about possible suspects or what may have triggered the late-night violence. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby buildings and businesses in the busy downtown corridor.
