Missouri Mom Horrified After Daughter Finds Snake-Like Object in Great Value Cheese Puffs: ‘I Think It’s a Paycheck’

MISSOURI — A Missouri mom says her family got the shock of their lives after opening a fresh bag of Walmart Great Value cheese puffs — only to discover a mysterious snake-like object coated in orange dust at the bottom. The viral TikTok has racked up more than a million views and triggered a wave of horror, jokes, and theories from viewers trying to figure out what the strange object could be.

TikToker Jill (@jillmariem12) says the bag came from a Walmart grocery delivery order. She gave some puffs to her daughter, and everything seemed normal — until another child noticed something odd inside the bag.

When Jill dumped out the contents, the long, curved, orange-coated object rolled out onto her counter.

“This is what was in our bag of cheese puffs,” she said. “I think it’s a snake. What do you guys think?”

Her caption was even more dramatic:

“Great Value cheese puffs had what looks like parts of a snake in the bag!!!!!!!”

Walmart Was Slow to Respond — and the Product Was Still on Shelves

In her update, Jill said she tried calling Walmart immediately, but the store was closed. The next morning she reached someone, who told her she needed to come in and file a report in person.

But when she arrived:

  • Employees already knew about the incident — it had been on Facebook
  • The chips were still on the shelves
  • The exact same lot number was still stocked

This shocked her.

“They’ve known for a few hours,” she said.
“Other employees knew about it last night.”

Despite this, she filed the complaint anyway. Her husband contacted corporate, and she also reached out to the local health department.

Later that evening, after church, her husband checked again:

“They were all off the shelf.”

She believes the removal finally happened after the proper chain-of-command protocol went through.

Someone Else in Town Found a Similar Object

Things got even stranger.

Jill says another person in her town bought the same chips and found a similar object — thinner, but clearly from the same product lot.

Jill’s husband joked:

“Oh, that’s the rattler.”

She posted follow-up videos breaking the object apart. It crumbled easily, suggesting it wasn’t a real animal — but she still had no official answers.

What Could It Be? Viewers Offer Theories

Given the lack of bones, head, or tail, many viewers believe it’s not a snake at all — but a manufacturing error.

One commenter wrote:

“It was a machine malfunction that made really ugly/gross puffs. Look at the inside — it’s clearly cheese puff.”

Another viewer had a completely different guess:

“I think it’s a paycheck.”

Jill shut that theory down quickly.

She replied:

“As long as my daughter who ate some puffs doesn’t end up with issues, we don’t need a lawsuit. It just needs looked into.”

Others shared their own Walmart food horror stories — including someone who found a staple in Great Value stuffed shells and received a $5 gift card as compensation.

A Viral Snack Mystery With No Clear Answer Yet

The strange object remains unconfirmed. Whether it’s a freak equipment malfunction or something more disturbing, customers say Walmart should have acted faster when the issue went public — especially since another shopper reportedly found something similar.

Jill says she’s not looking for money, only accountability and safety.

For now, she and thousands of viewers are waiting for Walmart to explain exactly what was in that bag.
