New York Man Accused of Fatally Shooting His Wife in Car and Dumping Her Body Near Wildlife Preserve, Police Say
CHAZY, NEW YORK — A 33-year-old New York man has been arrested for allegedly killing his wife and dumping her body near a remote wildlife preserve, state police announced this week.
Keith Henry is accused of shooting 25-year-old Chloe Henry in his vehicle and leaving her body along Ridge Road in Chazy, a rural area close to the Lake Alice Wildlife Management Area, about 25 miles from the crime scene.
Wife Reported Missing Before Discovery
According to New York State Police, Chloe was last seen with her husband on Sunday in Plattsburgh, a city near the Canadian border. Family members grew concerned after not hearing from her for more than 36 hours, calling it “highly unusual.”
Her disappearance triggered a search effort that ended two days later when her body was discovered on Ridge Road in Chazy.
Autopsy Reveals Execution-Style Killing
An autopsy performed by Dr. Michael Sikirica at Glens Falls Hospital determined that Chloe died from gunshot wounds to the head and back, ruling her death a homicide.
Investigators believe Keith Henry shot his wife while they were sitting inside his car in Peru, New York — approximately 26 miles away from where her body was later dumped. Police have not released details about a possible motive or what led to the shooting.
Husband Arrested and Charged With Murder
Authorities arrested Keith Henry shortly after locating his wife’s body. He has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held in Clinton County Jail.
Police have not said whether any weapon was recovered from the scene or vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police Forensic Unit.
Family and friends have begun posting tributes to Chloe on social media, describing her as a “bright, kind soul who was loved by everyone she met.”
