LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Several Louisville-area neighborhoods and cities earned high marks in Niche’s 2025 rankings of the best places to live in Kentucky, with five local spots making the statewide top 10.

Niche, a site known for ranking schools, colleges, and communities, based its livability scores on factors such as school quality, crime rates, housing affordability, jobs, and access to amenities. Out of 561 locations ranked across the state, these communities came out on top:

  1. Park Hills
  2. Fort Thomas
  3. Windy Hills
  4. Brownsboro Zorn (Louisville neighborhood)
  5. Deer Park (Louisville neighborhood)
  6. Edgewood
  7. Anchorage
  8. Belknap (Louisville neighborhood)
  9. Union
  10. Villa Hills

Louisville’s Overall Ranking

Despite three Louisville neighborhoods placing in the top 10, the city of Louisville overall ranked just No. 102 statewide, receiving a B+ grade. The city scored highly for diversity (A), nightlife (A-), and outdoor activities (A), but earned lower marks for crime and safety (C-) and public schools (C).
