Oshkosh McDonald’s Employee Charged After Shooting Manager During Late-Night Work Dispute

OSHKOSH, WISCONSIN — A McDonald’s employee in Oshkosh is facing charges after allegedly shooting his manager during a work dispute at the fast-food restaurant’s Jackson Street location in the early morning hours of October 29.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office, 24-year-old Adam Samida has been charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct while using a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

Workplace Argument Turns Violent

Police say the confrontation unfolded around 2 a.m. inside the McDonald’s where Samida was scheduled to work. One manager reportedly told investigators that Samida refused to perform his duties, prompting another manager — referred to in the complaint as Witness 2 (W2) — to confront him.

The two began shouting, and during the argument, Samida pulled out a gun and fired, striking the manager in the foot. The victim suffered a gunshot wound that caused a fracture, according to the complaint.

Surveillance Footage Contradicts Witness Statements

The criminal complaint details conflicting accounts of what happened leading up to the gunfire. While the second manager initially claimed Samida refused to leave the restaurant, surveillance video allegedly shows the opposite — with Samida trying to exit before being physically restrained by the manager.

During the struggle near the restaurant’s exit, Samida reportedly reached for his firearm and discharged a single round, striking his manager. After the shooting, Samida left the restaurant but was arrested a short time later by police.

Authorities say he declined to provide a statement following his arrest.

Charges and Court Proceedings

Samida was officially charged Monday and granted a signature bond by the court. A status conference is scheduled for December 18, according to court records.

Police have not said whether the firearm used in the shooting was legally owned or if Samida had a permit to carry it. The McDonald’s location temporarily closed following the incident but has since resumed normal operations.

The Oshkosh Police Department continues to investigate the incident as workplace safety concerns grow across retail and service industries. For updates on this case and other community safety news across Wisconsin, stay tuned to ChicagoMusicGuide.com.
