NEW YORK, NY — Stevie Wonder is marking the 50th anniversary of Songs In The Key Of Life with a new concert run that will take him across Europe and back to major U.S. arenas this fall. The Songs In The Key Of Life Performances 50th Anniversary Tour begins in a few weeks and spans 17 cities and 18 dates.
The 76-year-old singer and songwriter is set to launch the tour on Oct. 13 in Birmingham, UK, before moving through a long list of European stops and then starting the American leg in New York City on Nov. 19. For fans, the timing turns one of Wonder’s most celebrated albums into a live event tied directly to its golden jubilee.
Wonder opens in Europe before heading to New York and other U.S. arenas
The tour starts at Utilita Arena in Birmingham and then runs through Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Hannover, Cologne, Amsterdam, Dublin, London, Manchester and Glasgow. That stretch gives the anniversary project an international launch before Wonder comes back to the United States for the final part of the itinerary.
On the U.S. side, the run begins at Madison Square Garden in New York City, then continues to Chicago’s United Center and Washington’s Capital One Arena.
