Tom Morello Sets September Solo Album Everyone Gets Everything They Want With New Single Date Night and Guest Spots From Serj Tankian
NEW YORK, NY — Tom Morello has lined up a new solo album for Sept. 25. Everyone Gets Everything They Want will arrive through Mom + Pop, and the release is already drawing attention for its guest list and a limited vinyl edition.
The package includes production work from Tyler Smyth, Carl Restivo, Zakk Cervini, Dan Carey and Sam Nelson Harris. Morello also brought in a mix of collaborators from across the rock and punk world, including Serj Tankian of System of a Down, Kneecap, Beartooth and his son, Roman Morello.
Morello backs the album with Date Night
To go with the announcement, Morello has shared the new single “Date Night.” The song is built around the wartime story of three young Dutch women who fought against the Nazis during World War II: sisters Truus and Freddie Oversteegen and their friend Hannie Schaft.
According to Morello, the track centers on their work as spies, saboteurs and assassins, as well as the risks they took to help Jewish children escape persecution. He says the song is meant as an anti-racist, anti-fascist statement and describes it as a blunt “which side are you on?” message.
A track list that stretches from protest to family collaboration
The new album’s 12-song lineup suggests a record that mixes heavy themes with a wide range of voices. Titles include “Beth From Electronics,” “I Am Not Yours To Command,” “Soldier in the Army of Love,” “Pretend You Remember Me” and “They Can’t Kill Us All.”
Guest appearances are spread across key tracks, including Serj Tankian and Roman Morello on “Adjourn It,” Kneecap on “Unconquered” and Beartooth on “Everything Burns.” Morello also noted that his son helped write the riff for “Date Night,” adding a family connection to the project.
What fans can expect when the record lands this fall
Alongside the standard release, BrooklynVegan is offering an exclusive red-and-black stripe vinyl pressing limited to 300 copies. That edition is available for pre-order through the publication’s shop, giving collectors an early shot at a rare variant.
For fans of Morello’s solo work, the rollout signals another record that mixes sharp politics, guitar flash and unusual collaborations. With the album due in late September, listeners now have both a new single and a full track list to dig into before release day.
