Wisconsin Man Killed After Motorcycle Leaves Road on I-75 in Whitley County

WHITLEY COUNTY, KY — A man from Wisconsin was killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 75 Monday morning, prompting an emergency response and an ongoing investigation by Kentucky State Police.

At approximately 10:43 a.m., the Goldbug Volunteer Fire Department (Goldbug Fire Rescue) reported on Facebook that a fatal wreck had occurred near the northbound 13-mile marker on I-75 in Whitley County.
The crash involved only one motorcycle, which veered off the roadway. Authorities confirmed that the motorcycle did not strike any other vehicles during the incident.

KSP Trooper Scottie Pennington said the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation. Investigators are working to determine what caused the motorcyclist to lose control and leave the roadway.
The rider, identified only as a male from Wisconsin, died at the scene. His name is being withheld until next of kin are notified.
