14th Annual KIDSAFE CT Car Show to Honor Jerry Bundy with Cars, Community, and Music

VERNON, CT — On Saturday, August 16, the 14th Annual KIDSAFE CT Car Show will roar to life at the Tolland County Agricultural Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., bringing together car enthusiasts, families, and community members in a heartfelt tribute to its founder, Jerry Bundy.
This year’s event will showcase nearly 300 vehicles from all eras, including classic and modern cars, trucks, and tractors. Visitors can expect live music from DJ Gary Pomo, a vibrant vendor marketplace, delicious local food, and activities designed for all ages — from a free grom street course for kids to a public course for adults.
A Celebration of Cars, Culture, and Community
The KIDSAFE CT Car Show isn’t just about engines and chrome — it’s about connection. With an awards ceremony for each car class and category, the show offers a chance for local car builders, restorers, and collectors to share their craft with the community. Vendors will offer unique automotive merchandise alongside family-friendly attractions, making the event a perfect summer outing.
Admission is free for spectators, with a $10 registration fee for car owners. All proceeds benefit KIDSAFE CT, an organization dedicated to protecting and empowering children in the Vernon area.
Honoring Jerry Bundy’s Legacy
Founded in 2011 by Jerry Bundy, the KIDSAFE CT Car Show quickly became one of the region’s premier summer events. Jerry’s passion for cars was matched only by his commitment to making a positive difference for local youth. His vision transformed a simple community car show into a fundraiser that supports vital family services through KIDSAFE CT and The Village for Families & Children.
Following Jerry’s passing in 2024, the event’s organizers have pledged to carry forward his mission. “This show is our way of keeping Jerry’s dream alive and helping the next generation,” organizers said.
Music, Atmosphere, and What to Expect
DJ Gary Pomo will set the soundtrack for the day, spinning a mix of classic hits, upbeat tracks, and crowd favorites to keep the energy high. The combination of polished chrome under the summer sun, the scent of fresh-grilled food, and the thump of bass from the sound system will create a festival-like atmosphere.
For car lovers, this is a chance to get up close with rare models and talk shop with fellow enthusiasts. For families, it’s an opportunity to enjoy a safe, engaging day out while supporting a cause that truly matters.
