Forbidden Lines up First Major U.S. Tour in Years With Chaos by Design Dates and a New Album for Fans
LOS ANGELES, CA — Forbidden is back with a long-awaited run of U.S. shows after years away from the road. The Bay Area thrash metal band’s Chaos By Design Tour begins Oct. 23 in Las Vegas and stretches across 23 dates before wrapping Nov. 22 in Los Angeles.
The lineup includes lead singer Norman Skinner, founding guitarist Craig Locicero, guitarist Jeremy Von Epp, bassist Matt Camacho and drummer Chris Kontos. For fans who have waited through two extended breaks totaling 21 years, the schedule marks the band’s first wide-reaching American tour in years.
A coast-to-coast swing with fellow thrash veterans
Forbidden’s itinerary moves through the Mountain West, Midwest, Northeast and South, with stops in cities including Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Brooklyn, Orlando, Atlanta, Austin and Dallas. The run also includes dates in Worcester, Albany, Greensboro, Greenville, Destin, Albuquerque and Tucson.
Joining the band as special guests are Heathen and Void, two groups Forbidden described as “good friends” and fellow thrash veterans. The tour gives the band a chance to reconnect with American audiences after its last major outing, the Omega Wave World Tour in 2010 and 2011.
New music arrives the same day the tour starts
The road news comes with a second surprise: Forbidden will release a new self-titled album on Oct. 23 through BLKIIBLK, the same day the tour opens. The band also shared a new single, “Psyclops,” giving fans an early taste of the record.
That album will be Forbidden’s first in 16 years, following 2010’s Omega Wave. At the time of that release, the band toured extensively across North America, South America and Europe and played several high-profile festivals.
What fans can expect from the comeback
The new tour and album together signal a full-scale return for a band that has spent much of the past two decades in and out of hiatus. For longtime listeners, the appeal is not just the rare chance to catch Forbidden live again, but the prospect of hearing fresh material alongside the songs that built its reputation.
With a new record, a new single and a full U.S. routing in place, Forbidden is making clear that this comeback is more than a one-off reunion. It is aiming for a proper second chapter.
