Man Breaks Guinness Record by Spitting Table Tennis Ball 51 Times in 30 Seconds

NORTH ATLANTIC OCEAN — Serial record-breaker David Rush has added yet another title to his list of over 181 Guinness World Records, this time by spitting a table tennis ball 51 times against a wall in 30 seconds, according to UPI.
Record Set at Sea
Rush accomplished the feat while aboard the Disney Wonder cruise ship, noting he was “somewhere in the North Atlantic Ocean” when he broke the record for the third time.
He first set the benchmark with 43 bounces, then improved it to 47 in 2024 at Guinness World Records headquarters in London. His latest attempt pushed the total to 51, setting a new high mark.
A Deceptively Difficult Challenge
Rush described the unusual record as more complex than it looks. “To the casual eye, it might look goofy. But trust me: this record is deceptively difficult,” he explained.
He noted that every bounce requires a split-second calculation:
- Too much pressure, and the ball rockets back higher than expected.
- Too little, and it drops too low and slows down the pace.
“The spit has to be perfectly aimed,” he added.
Record-Breaking Streak
Rush has become known worldwide for attempting and breaking quirky Guinness records, ranging from juggling to balancing acts. With more than 181 records held concurrently, he continues to use his stunts to promote STEM education and perseverance.
