Wisconsin Police Confirm No Threat to Boscobel Schools After Social Media Post

BOSCOBEL, WISCONSIN — Authorities in southwest Wisconsin have confirmed there is no active threat to Boscobel Schools following concerns raised by a circulating social media post earlier this week.
According to the Boscobel Police Department, officers were notified on September 11 about an anonymous Facebook post that suggested a potential safety issue involving a student. Police quickly investigated and identified both the person who made the post and the juvenile mentioned in the alleged threats.
Investigation Findings
Officials determined the threats were not new, were not directed at Boscobel Schools, and had already been investigated roughly 16 months ago by law enforcement, school administrators, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
Police conducted a new threat assessment of the student and concluded they do not pose a substantive threat at this time.
In a statement, the department noted: “We believe that the efforts made by the respective agencies involved were effective in helping the student.”
Ongoing Monitoring by Schools
While police ruled out any immediate danger, they clarified that their assessment is independent of the school district’s. Boscobel school officials will continue to monitor and address any behavior that could appear suspicious or threatening.
Authorities stressed the importance of transparency and reassured families that there is no cause for alarm regarding the safety of students.
