Pursuit Begins in Jackson County

The chase began around 7:22 a.m. when the Wisconsin State Patrol alerted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office about two eastbound vehicles suspected of being stolen rentals. Deputies attempted to stop the cars as they entered Jackson County, but both allegedly sped away.

One driver abandoned their vehicle near an eastbound rest stop and fled into the woods. The vehicle was recovered, but the suspect was not located.

The second car continued into Monroe County, where deputies deployed tire deflation devices near Tomah. The maneuver worked, and officers arrested the driver and passenger without further incident.

Ongoing Investigation

Officials confirmed that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue searching for the individual who fled into the woods.
